I developed each of the three themes in the same way. Firstly deciding on my positioning and then altering the scale of each illustration once overlaying the O2 arena.

I laid out a few different alternatives before deciding how to illustrate over the vector based illustration. I wanted the illustrations to flow out from the arena, being careful not to dominate the space surrounding and above the vectored arena image. I looked at making a pattern, creating shapes within shapes, beams of illustrations like light emerging... By sketching out lots of variations, it really helped me to decide upon the flowing choice. Then once a template was in place I just had to drop in the vectored illustrations that I had produced and re-scale them how I felt appropriate.
